Oh BOY!

"Mommy!!" as Parker excitedly runs into the house from the backyard, "I need a jump rope!!"  He's talking so fast and so excitedly I can hardly understand him, "I need to attach Beckham to the power wheel and pull him",  I say "wait, what do you want to do?"  "I want to attach Beckham's dump truck to my power wheel and pull him around!!".  Me: "oh-ohhh kay....alright....please be careful, and don't hurt Beckham ok?".
This was the result...utter bliss in my children:

Everyday, raising boys I am met with the decision of "is this a bad idea?" when trying so desperately not to squelch their adventuresome "boy" side.  Everyday I beg The Lord to help me RELAX the uptight clean freak GIRL in me!!!

When is mud TOO much mud???

When do I make them stop creating a massive swamp of mud?  Oh my...and there is going to be such a huge MESS!!! Ugh...breathe Cathy...breathe...it's not a big deal.

"Mommy!!!!!  Come look what I did!!!!  You are going to love it!!!" As I excitedly run in the backyard to see Parker has unassembled the fort ladder and is super pumped at his skills!  "Oh Parker!  Wow!! (Realizing this could squelch and choosing to not), that IS so cool!  I'm impressed you could do that!"

What is the line of letting precious Parker follow the workers around the backyard with his tools all while talking to them (of which they don't speak English ;)) learning and being a boy to "ok, we need to let them work!"

Is it ok that I am completely and totally grossed out by them farting around me?  I get so mad when they fart in my face and laugh!  Agggghhhh!!!!  But as a boy mom, should I playfully laugh back?  How do I do this boy thing?!?!??

Then there's the trampoline!  They LOVE it, but oh my goodness they rough house so hard I can hardly watch!!!  The whole time loving it and me cringing when they body slam each other.  It's easier when Blake is there doing it with them, but when it's just them two, oh, I cringe.

But them there are the sweet moments:

Parker super cute game he made up where we had to step on each other's socks.

Everyday is filled with UPS and downs, moments of bliss and moments of my uptightness coming thru, just wanting to SCREAM "I want a clean QUIET HOUSE!!!!!!", "stop digging in the dirt and stop rough housing and CALM DOWN and no you canNOT take all the couch cushions off for a fort and NOOO do NOT PEE IN THE DOG BOWLS....no no NO don't throw the pee in the air now!!!!!  Ahhhhhhh!!!!!, QUIT peeing on Beckham!!!".  But as I look down and see a growing Jett in my belly, I know The Lord is giving me wisdom for this life of boys and is helping me...it's just an everyday thing of surrender and asking for His wisdom and ideas and help!!
