In Dee Forrest****** I am a mommy to four wonderful little boys. I love my role and want to remember every little detail of the days that I get to spend with them as a stay-at-home mommy. I am a homeschooling momma with a husband who is working full time along with full time seminary. This blog is to help me work through the daily, but mainly, it's to help me remember precious little moments that I never want to forget and cherish forever!

MELT DOWN!!!!
So today was a fun day- however it consisted of Parker NOT taking a nap- so as any mom can imagine, by 6pm, my boys were melllllttttttiiiinnnngggg down! So- I manage to get Parker bathed and realize as I am brushing his teeth that he is going to bed ASAP...so I put him in bed and then went to address my other meltdown case Beckham :). While I am bathing Beckham, Parker is SCREAAAAMING at his door, banging on the door, having a total breakdown- so I get Beckham in a diaper and in his crib under his mobile to entertain him. I went into Parker's room to find him on the floor just weeping...honestly- it was so sad, so I scooped him up and sat in his glider and rocked him to sleep...as we all know, I was in heaven...getting to rock my 2 year old...ohhhhh....it's the best. So he starts to stir in my arms and I tell him it's time to go night night and I lay him in bed and shut the door- well, he got pretty upset again, so I went back in and started rubbing his back and singing to him....just being there with him to calm his fears and calm him down. Eventually after a while of that I told him I was going to leave and he was going to go to sleep...I asked him if he wanted me to pray with him, and he did so we held hands and I prayed that God would help him fall asleep and have sweet sleep and that He would calm any fear that Parker had and that we would all wake up feeling good in the morning. After I said amen, Parker grabbed the back of my neck and pulled me in to kiss me. (TEAR!!! OH, was that heaven!!) I told my sweet booger bear that I loved him and off I went to go have my quality time with my boo bear. So, I go into Beckham's room and he had fallen asleep in his diaper under his mobile! It was SO cute. So I got him up and fed him and put him in PJ's and then had some time to just rock him. My heart fills to the brim with joy when I rock my boys...when they just lay in my arms still so comforted by me and my presence. OH, I love it! I love my boys with all of my heart and then some! Ya know- night times can be so hard especially when both are melting down- but God is so faithful in that he always gives me some of the sweetest moments in nights filled with meltdowns. Now, when those nights come- I look for the sweet moments, because I know they will be there. Not that I love meltdowns, because I do NOT...but I love the sweet moments that come from meltdowns...when my boys just need their mommy and need the comfort of their mommy to help it all be OK.

The usual day...
Today was a usual day. Everyone got up- we had breakfast and nap-time (mommy included!!) Then once Parker got up I fixed him lunch...laughed while he played war with his gold fish...and then Parker and I went to go check the mail. This is such a sweet time for me, because it is always just Parker and I (because sweet Beckham is usually asleep) and he gets SO excited about it. When I say "let's go check the mail, Parkerman!" he goes and grabs his grocery cart and we CHARGE outside!

As we get towards the middle of the driveway we say "Stop!" and look for cars. I say "do you see any cars??" and Parker says while wailing his arms "NO CARS!!!" and we go out into the street and to the mail box. He puts the mail in his grocery cart and we go back inside. However, today we took a little detour. He parked his grocery cart and pointed out the flowers (a.k.a. weeds) in the yard. So I plopped myself down on the driveway! Parker came running up to me with these

my little weed flowers. It was so sweet- I just couldn't let myself forget it! He then sat next to me on the driveway...we just sat there enjoying the beautiful day- looking at airplanes and "talking".
Ya know...I love remembering sweet moments like these, because Parkerman is going through a stage where he just stares at me when I tell him to do something and does the opposite of what I tell him to do- and it is so easy to get frustrated with parenting- but when I stop and smell the weed flowers and see the most precious side to my crazy two year old I can't help but be SO grateful that he is in my world every minute of every day...he is such a gift and I treasure him with all of my heart! Tonight- reading books to him before bed, snuggling him in my arms...every bit of any frustration that I have with him is gone from my memory....all I see is my sweet baby boy who I would lay my life down for! What a WONDERFUL usual day! :)

To love God's word...
This morning, while spending time with my God, I began to pray for opportunities to instill a passion for God's word in my childrens' hearts and minds. With a 2 year old, I wasn't quite sure how I would do this, but I just needed to trust that God would create divine appointments for just that. I continued on with my Bible study, and in this book I am studying it talked about how one of the greatest gifts you can give your children is your time...undivided...all to themselves! So, I began my day....
Parker and I were having a fun time jumping on my bed, playing, laughing, enjoying life. When it happened...Parker pointed at Blake's Bible and said "Bible??". I said "yes, that's a Bible...that is God's word"...and then from there we spent about 20 minutes talking about God, and Jesus and the Bible. We prayed and talked some more. It was amazing....absolutely AMAZING!!! I had a little devotional with my 2 year old! God spoke to me at that point. If I had not given my child my time- undivided and intentional- I would have missed one of the most beautiful moments to instill God's word in my child. I would have missed a divine appointment with a little boy that I love more than anything in this world. I also realized that I don't have to "know" what to do to raise a godly man...all I have to do is pray and God will raise up these moments and they will be easy and beautiful- but I must make sure to give him my time, my attention and my all during the day!
PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!

Wispers sweet love....
Tonight at the dinner table, Parker and I were "talking" and I started to whisper to him just for fun...so I whispered "Parker...can you whisper?" and he would whisper back "Ya" and then I would whisper "Can you say, 'love you'"? and he would whisper back "duh do". Ohhhhhhhh....I love you too, Parkerman...more than you will ever ever EVER know.
5 monthgs ago...
5 months ago, my world went from a mother of one to a mother of two. Wow...what a new life I received. I now had this little grumpy baby that just ate, slept and cried! However, as time went on Beckham became more and more happy and precious and wonderful. Today, as he turns 5 months, I get to note all of his little qualities.
1. He is sitting up with assistance really well
2. He smiles ALL-OF-THE-TIME...if he is awake, he is smiling
3. He is soooooooooo ticklish!
4. His sleep at night is OK...could be better! :)
5. He rolls around on the floor- he can start on one side of the room and roll to the other
6. He will gladly sit in his carseat and be content
7. He sucks his thumb!!!! (soooo cute)
8. He also likes his pacifier too!
9. He thinks his mommy is soooo funny!
and # 10.....
He has stolen his mommy's heart!!!!
I love you baby boy!!!! You've made my life fuller than I could have ever imagined!

So precious....
When Beckham wakes up from his nap (in his swing) Parker and I go into his room...I say "HI BECKHAM!!!", then Parker gets nose to nose with Beckham and says "HI DEEE....HIIII....HI DEEEE....HI" (then proceeds to tickle him and say HI all over again). It's the cutest most precious sight!! I love these moments and don't ever want to forget them!

A feeling I can't describe...
Tonight as I was rocking Beckham to sleep he was just staring into my eyes...so content...so sweet. The love I have for this new baby of mine is unexplainable...so wonderful....so fulfilling.
