As we get towards the middle of the driveway we say "Stop!" and look for cars. I say "do you see any cars??" and Parker says while wailing his arms "NO CARS!!!" and we go out into the street and to the mail box. He puts the mail in his grocery cart and we go back inside. However, today we took a little detour. He parked his grocery cart and pointed out the flowers (a.k.a. weeds) in the yard. So I plopped myself down on the driveway! Parker came running up to me with these
my little weed flowers. It was so sweet- I just couldn't let myself forget it! He then sat next to me on the driveway...we just sat there enjoying the beautiful day- looking at airplanes and "talking".
Ya know...I love remembering sweet moments like these, because Parkerman is going through a stage where he just stares at me when I tell him to do something and does the opposite of what I tell him to do- and it is so easy to get frustrated with parenting- but when I stop and smell the weed flowers and see the most precious side to my crazy two year old I can't help but be SO grateful that he is in my world every minute of every day...he is such a gift and I treasure him with all of my heart! Tonight- reading books to him before bed, snuggling him in my arms...every bit of any frustration that I have with him is gone from my memory....all I see is my sweet baby boy who I would lay my life down for! What a WONDERFUL usual day! :)
